All you need is love…

…whispering through the leaves of the freshly sprung trees of spring. The geese were even an extra shade of white for this beautiful day.

Now my friends hold a very special place in my heart and I would do anything for them, I’m the “giver” type friend. I am blessed with the gift of gab and can express my feelings and emotions through words very easily. I decided to give the newlyweds a different type of wedding present-a speech.

So once the vows had been exchanged with the beautiful pond at Shady Wagon Farms in the background and Kyle and Melissa took their first kiss as husband and wife, we all sighed and congratulated and moved on to the buildings across the way where the alcohol lie defenseless, waiting for us to come and clear out their inventory, not once….but twice. Maybe Shady Wagon Farms wasnt ready for a Blalock/Fritz wedding…I dont even think we were.

It was too much fun, the food was too good…the salad was confusing but the time spent with my friends was something I will never forget. Once everyone had their fill of dancing and admiring a cameo from “Michael Jackson”. I FINALLY….had the mic in my hand and gave Mr. and Mrs. Kyle Blalock my wedding present…

“Good evening everyone…My name is Matt Gorman. I am 24 with the receding hairline of a 31 year old and I am a personal friend of Kyle and Melissa’s. I was told to write a speech so I did and I hope you dont mind while I look at my blackberry for the notes. *AHEM*

The first date has turned into many, and the first kiss has turned into an exchange of rings, affection, and devotion to each others soul. I can be completely honest about this one fact. And all you married folks know, my social life will now suffer because Kyle and Melissa are going to be falling off the face of the earth working on their “matrimonial duties” as husband and wife.

I came into the picture about 2 years ago. My social timeline begins with one of the best friends I have ever had the pleasure of making, Mr. Bo Phongsa and his most recently acquired Mrs. Kasey. After hanging out with them for a few short weeks I had a new family of friends that made my transition to NC so incredibly comfortable and welcoming. I met Autumn, Ashli, Shannon, Scott, Meredith, Melissa and Kyle. These are all people that I have never said thank you to but I now get the chance to say, “Thank you. I wish I could show you how much I appreciate every single one of you. I value all of our friendships more than you guys know and I am so appreciative to have every single one of you in my life…

Now back to these two. Melissa is the most giving soul I have met in a long time. She reminds me of my grandmother, she looks nothing like her, always making sure everything is ok and doing everything she can with the two legs god has given her to take care of other people. She gives herself so freely and will do anything for you. She is the type of girl everyone wants to find and will be the best thing that ever happened to Kyle since the invention of hair gel. She will be an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and we, as well as Kyle are lucky to have her in our lives.

Kyle is a special case. Kyle is the definition of “Southern”. Big truck, big personality, and his own dictionary of words and phrases that can only be understood by his inner circle and sometimes not even by them. On the other side of his tough guy image he has the same heart of gold his new wife has . I can remember being at the house Autumn and Melissa shared and Kyle had recently gotten through his carpal tunnel surgery. Someone was complaining about an ailment that was giving them problems and he jumped up off the couch. Went right to the freezer, and began lecturing the poor soul about how great his new icepacks were and how he would feel free to “lend” them to the individual and selling them like he was the OxyClean guy or some car salesman trying to make a deal. He is opinionated and stubborn. Gifted with any yard equipment, power tool, and machine that uses gasoline to run. Most importantly he will take care of you, Melissa, in anyway he can because you are his everything.

Since the economy is slowly trending downward, Kyle and Melissa, please accept this as my wedding gift. I bought you a card so there is only $16.94 in the card since it had to cover that…”

We all then raised a glass and started having dessert and moving on with our lives and that damn night didnt end until 2:00am..oh what a night…not sure how I got through it but…

All you need is love…right?

A social conglomerate fighting for his voice to be heard and a way to motivate the world. Words are all that is between you and success. That and fear. Conquer fear and use the words to tell people about your triumph. You can always win.

actually you are Gorman and I am too, well on my mothers side.
Odd way to try and contact possible blood relatives but I came across this and had to try. So Gorman have you looked into your family history at all. Are you aware that there are whole counties in Ireland that are just stocked with Gormans(O’gorman, MacGorman and GOrmleys all derivatives of of the same root ) there are even small villages such as Gormanstounand GOrmston I believe. The name supposedly came down from a King yes that type of, castle, land and all the trappings of the 5th-6th century. His Name was King Gormondus of norse/danish decent. Sadly When King Henry invaded Ireland he through out most of the land owning Gormans aaaaso he could claim it for England. Ok I have rambled a bit here but I get excited when I find another possible decendant. SO I hope I have not intruded too much and would gr4eatly appreciate hearing back from you. have a grewat rest of your life.
